I got this album to review a few weeks back and I'm ashamed to say that it almost got lost in the growing tower of CDs on my desk. Miraculously I got some free time and decided to check out what this 6 piece from Connecticut had up their sleeves. It was said they rocked like bands like Saosin, Anberlin and Circa Survive, so I honestly couldn't wait to put their latest album "In The Name Of Progression..." into my stereo to imbibe music that was sure to tickle my fancy.

Almost immediately I felt like their brand of pop rock was something that would get stuck in my head for days. And it did. Sure they have things in common with other bands like Saosin and some songs that remind me of Fall Out Boy, and it isn't the most original thing out, but it is something that can't be denied. With guitars that alternate from melodic and basic smooth, the addition of keyboards/pianos, occasional acoustics, solid vocals and impressive progression makes this whole album a hit.

Honestly this sounds like Saosin's self-titled a lot. It has infectious rock with building slow parts and you don't have to skip any tracks because they are all fluid and amazing. I was honestly surprised that this CD was so good and it could truly fight for the top best of the year.

So I strongly suggest you check out this (slightly formulaic) but still amazing album because it might just be blaring on MTV in a few months. Be the first to know and experience it people. ACE knew what they were doing putting "Progression" in the title of the record because this effort progresses so well and is catchier than some of the most contagious diseases out there.
