Well I guess I should have assumed by the title of the band that there were less than the regular band size for Childhood friends. In fact the two people that make Childhood Friends up, are childhood friends. Maybe more than that as their myspace picture has them naked in bed holding a sign saying "It's not what it looks like." I'll tell you what it looks like, it looks like they have their new CD out entitled "Key Party."

At first you will think this is a joke. No offense, but these two aren't exactly what you will enjoy listening to. Jake and Ilima (yes that is her name) have put forth an album filled with toned guitars, synth keyboards and ear flicking vocals that get annoying after awhile (like a bad Gwen Stefani ). This album doesn't know where it's going and it's either spinning a continuous sample loop or it is breaking off in a incoherent musical tangent.

Not to get on it too hard, because it has some true ingenuity being that only two people are making the music, but truthfully it's not enough for me to even listen to twice. I don't use the word lame very often, but this drunk experimental rock with otep like poems spread out is just plain LAME.

So you probably shouldn't check out this gothic snorefest because of many things. Incoherent splotches of music, dramatically wasting vocals, and boring lyrics, are just for start. Don't let anyone trick you into listening to this because you will be mad at the music and your friend for recommending it.
