Some bands have a little something for everyone. Take The Crown happens to be one of those groups. A dash of this and that and a scrap from every type of band imaginable somehow end up on this record that is more an amalgamation of styles than any one tendency in particular. "Relapse React" clearly represents the work of scatterbrained artists grappling either to put their proverbial fingers on the sound that fits them best or create a unique sound all their own.

The introductory phase of the album features spacey background noise alongside a synthetic, Saosin-esque beat. Take The Crown aim straight for the heart with this brand new full-length, "Relapse React." The summer Beginning anthem and my favorite track “Ride Or Die” gives listeners, both old and new, an idea of how far Take The Crown have come. With "Relapse React", Take The Crown broaden their fan base by infusing a very post-rock emo-influenced sound.

You may not find a band so enigmatic, so appropriate to put out an album like "Relapse React" for quite some time, so enjoy it while it lasts. 2008 has been a year so far that has proved spotty for thoroughly constructed releases, with most albums lacking serious staying power. Songs like the soothingly yet sadly focused “Game OVERdose” will dance in your head for hours. Of note, this is possibly the song most reminiscent of Take The Crown's previous work, with the guitar throughout and a loose piano melody in the background to provide some depth. Don't be a fool go grab this when it drops, it's an incredibly ground-breaking full-length debut by a band that deserves high praises.
