| From First To Last throw intense energy, emotion, and raw talent into a pot to create an art that is not easily forgotten, their catchy melodies stick with you until you can't help playing the record one more time. It's no hidden fact that this is the classic boys from, From First To Last you remember. You can clearly tell by the smooth up-beat production and quality they never fail to impress. From First To Last make you proud to listen to catchy post-hardcore that's incredibly addictive. Trust me once you spin this album you'll spin it and spin it, it's hard to listen to just once it'll be in your stereo for the rest of the year.
After your first listen to From First To Last, you'll feel as if they are road-hardened vetrans with their sound and talent, it's incredible how talented these boys are with the brief time they've been together (with their new singer). The band, while obviously technically proficient, with its headphone-friendly riffs and perennially on-key vocals, is just as impressive in its ability to craft its own brand of deep enough, yet radio-ready rock. From the rock-hardened bounce of "Two As One" to the driving, soaring swagger of "Worlds Away," and on into the sailing guitar clinic of "Tick Tick Tomorrow", the boys have a fine grasp on how to construct a song that does a dandy job of showing off their skills on their respective instruments as well as the ease with which they exude their potential for mainstream success. These fine elements all culminate with the fan-favorite "We All Turn Back To Dust" a song that welds together From First To Lasts plural wandering vocal lines with a set of urgent, wandering guitar threads, coming to a head with an undeniably catchy chorus.
Expectations for larger bands and their related releases have fallen short in many respects, while previously unknown bands continue to break through and release impressive offerings to a somewhat unsuspecting public. Now, it could be argued that the new-wave distribution of rock/indie resources has helped facilitate this, with lesser-known bands entering more established studios with well-known producers and the like, but I would actually argue along a different line of thought. I think today's rock music scene is getting to the point where it is sustaining itself, with artists learning and borrowing from one another, but at the same time, creating something wholly compelling they can still call their own. Along these lines, From First To Last have released their self-titled debut, which is an exclamatory trumphet announcing the arrival of a band that is surely destined for success. Look forward to new From First To Last record don't be a fool, go grab this up!
