Sure, you can name your band after the person that assassinated Robert Kennedy. Or you could name yourself after a Palestinian man responsible for an attack that killed five Israeli civilians. And sure, you can even cover your new album with pools of blood and even call it "Blood." But what is up with the Andrew WK like blood on the band's face on the back? I guess I'm just being weird but seriously some bands are taking this naming process to retarded levels. Enter Sirhan Sirhan and their newest album "Blood."

Much like the psyche of the killers I mentioned earlier, The innards of Sirhan Sirhan's music is pretty much the same, retardedly nuts. In a combination of what could be called Fall of Troy mixed with the trashed punk of old we slur our way through song after song. It was a while ago that we stepped out of the chaotic nonsense of muddled punk/hardcore music when we discovered we could attract more flies with honey (melodic) than with vinegar (grind), but for "Blood" it seems we are stuck with in this spiraling nightmare.

Vocals that are filled with effects and wild hoots and hollers are plastered throughout making you feel like you are on a bad trip. There is barely a discernable concept of rhythm or tempo as we go up and down, in and around like a lousy set of teacup rides that make you puke your guts up after you get off. That being said, there are a few nuggets of goodness that sliver through the pitch blackness. Solos that rope together the melody and rhythm in a creative way appear every so often. But that being a small piece of the pie, there is not enough to save this record.

Train loads of nauseating guitars, vocals, lyrics, and more are just a few things that haunt this albums progression. I will try to give "Blood" a few more listens to see if it grows on me. But like a rolling rock, moss won't grow on it and this music will have people not able to listen to it after the first few tracks. And with track titles that linger around "The Maggot Sings" and "Remove My Eyes" that may fly with European death metal bands, this jumbled mess of music wont impress anyone.
