| Stick To Your Guns are ready to release their new full-length album "Comes From The Heart" and it is an intense 30 minute ride that will leave you sweating and your head pounding.
The intro track “We're What Seperates The Heart From The Heartless” conjures up a beautifully evil melody with racing vocals and insane guitar work and loses no time ripping into the second track “Impact” This track removed any apprehension I had about this being just another hardcore album. Before you can even finish digesting the first few tracks, the album has already moved on.
Seamlessly recorded to keep kicking the listener in the face, each track flows into the next as a good Hardcore show should do. It is fast, furious, angry and rabid. This band wants you to get up and start scissor-kicking the crap out of your friends. “Driving Force” is a standout track that isn't so violent and possibly my most favorite track on the record, it's not really the most pummeling song on the album but it is outstanding overall.
The fact that this band sticks with their metal and hardcore roots and does not overdo the clean vocals which is another point in my book. If I want clean singing, I will buy a pop album, if I want a singer to rip my face off, I will buy some Stick To Your Guns. I must say that Jesse Barnett's vocal capability is awesome compared to many other hardcore singers; he has force and depth and his singing is such a far cry from the growling, it is amazing.
If this group can keep up the intensity on this album for their live show, I will be in line to get some tickets. There is nothing better than a fast raucous album that translates onto the stage really well. And for my money, I would say this one will do the trick.
