I'm not very familiar with the Acoustic London underground, but through the smoke and aroma of ale David Saw has come to pass on his new album. "Broken Down Figure" is 10 tracks of self produced solo acts that Dave has compiled and put to our ears. I really liked the fold out album case as each flap introduced something new underneath, I was hoping his music was similar in nature.

What is featured is an ode to the slow and tender acoustic/piano arrangements from the bottom of our hearts. David has taken a slow motion pace and places soft words out like walk ways to find where you are going. His lyrics are eerily kind and with a never raised voice, he echoes along with the acoustics to form a fluffy cloud-like dream. If you have ever seen the recent Starsky and Hutch movie and you remember when Owen Wilson was singing that song "Don't give up on us baby" in that enduring but cheesy voice? Well that is David Saw to a T.

"Broken Down Figure" does pick up to a fastened country swagger in some songs but in general Dave's calm and collected pace is constant throughout. I will say that while i grasp the amount of music a single songwriter can play to us, many of the songs seem so skinny and have hardly any music within. Now I do like a gentle touch, but there were sometimes that I couldn't even hear some of the subtle notes. Don't get me wrong, this album will swoon any ears that it touches with its acoustic folk/indie loveliness, but some spots are too light.

"Broken Down Figure" is a delicate album with charming acoustics that will keep you near a fireplace with it playing on your stereo. Those who love faster tempo music, simply won't get this album because of how chill and relaxed David makes it. This is your snuggle soundtrack for the summer, no matter how far away it is.
