7.5 (out of 10)

Crisis begins with “Drunks,Lovers,Sinners & Saints” a fast-paced song that reminds me of their older material alot. Easily one of the best songs on the album. Alexisonfire's razor-sharp attitude on Crisis will fill your ears with some solid-screamy music that threatens to consume you. While I listen to this album, I think to myself: this is who Alexisonfire really is, this is their music they enjoy it, & are amazing at it. While this album isn’t without flaws and some filler, the majority of the songs make up for it with their heavy guitar play, lively rhythm, and earnest vocals. Crisis is the perfect summer album, one that you can blast in your car while doing insane speeds. There are several songs on the album that manage to stand out from the rest. "This could be anywhere in the world" begins with that oh-so-familiar pattern of accented downbeats layered over a single sustained chord that a lot of hardcore-rock bands tend to use.

As we progress throughout the album, there is one song that I can relate myself to:"To A Friend" the lyrcis flow nicely, "What are you suffering for? You're proud of some kind of personal war. And will you throw it away for nothing more than a simple taste?" Amazing. One of the strong points on the album in my honest opinion is Dallas's solo's, he brings something to the album that is undescribeable, you are instantly thirsty for more.

Alexisonfire's album certainly leaves a lot to be desired. Though there are certain aspects that stand out on the album, they seem to recycle melodies, guitar riffs, tempo, and song structure throughout the entire album. It’s by no means an awful album, but it just doesn’t achieve that good ol' AOF sound like we would have liked to see. The new album is highly-generic, and doesnt sound much like the AOF we all grew to love, but it is still a much very solid-album. Nevertheless Alexisonfire's Crisis is an outstanding effort that many will love and many will grow to love, is it AOF's best effort to date, not even close. In the end you all will agree Watch Out! has and will be their best material.

A promise Alexisonfire can keep is that they can draw in fans that enjoy both rock and hardcore genres alike. They have created such a huge fan-base in such a short period of time it is unbelievable. This album is definitely an album you need to check out, it is an awesome summer album.
