Metal titans 3 Inches of Blood return to the scene again, shocking the crowds once again with a raw power-metal influenced album that'll put your level 35 battle-mage to shame. From touring with all sorts of metal and death metal bands, 3 Inches of Blood have obtained an oddly compiled fanbase of metalheads that had most-likely forgotten about their soft-spot for metallic conquests to slay dragons and spill the blood of petty imps and trolls. All the band really needs now is a real power-metal tour with somebody like Kamelot or Ensiferum.

With "Fire Up the Blades" you can expect much of the same type of stuff that was on previous works by the band. But this effort contains riffing that dares to soar beyond metal's boundary and even tends to grow parallel to a lot of classic rock riffing. Add the sounds of viking chants and some killer solos and you're bound to get yourself into some trouble. In fact this album is such a good display of the band's talents that it could even heckel you into buying the disc twice.

Don't just take my word for it when I tell you that "Fire Up the Blades" is an unavoidable addition to any metal fans collection. Pause your quests for the dark brotherhood, put your schooling from the mages guild on a brief hiatus and get out and buy this CD. It just might give you the extra acrobatic skills needed to level-up your elven battling skills.
