| You know when you get in that mood that you want to try something new? Something different that
gives you a chance of the bland scenario that you are stuck in? Well in musical terms, Track A
Tiger is here to show off their brand of experimental alterna-rock for us. Their latest effort "We
Moved Like Ghosts" sets this diverse five piece from the Windy city onto our radars with their
original sound and creative minds. Let's see if this coagulation of different styles can form a
band that we will remember for a long time. Fingers crossed.
Taking into account that Deep Elm Records progresses a fair amount of experimental and folk rock
bands, I wasn't as surprised when I was put next to this rippling water themed music. It was rough
yet serene but something about it kept me listening. It has that feel good vibe tucked into it in
almost every curve. The vocals seemed to be fusions of calming masculine voices mixed with a
harmonious female voice making it balanced. While the guitars and drums, while unique, seemed to
come off has "comatose" or sluggish. This may or may not be good for you.
I applaud the original feel that almost pours effortlessly from their sound, which shows how a
record that isn't produced with a Hollywood budget can further your musical pallet. As I was
listening I could picture it being on a movie soundtrack for a montage where a character is
thinking about a dilemma they are having and which side they choose. Sleepy music that has an
upbeat feel to it and some creepy vocals that will hypnotize your ears.
The subtle yet apparent symbols of "Light" came through with sounds effects, piano, and acoustic
guitars that almost projected the thought of light into your head from just hearing it. It was
crazy how well they could cross the mediums of sight and hearing with it. "Summer's End" seems so
rich in sound and development. With echoing guitars, a generally pleasant disposition, and pillow
soft vocals really makes this part of your dream's soundtrack.
In the end, Track A Tiger is an enjoyable romp. They are incredibly original and offer up a
refreshing dose of serenades and sonically pleasing adventures. People that like moody folk music
and experimental rock will fall asleep soundly with this coming out of their headphones. Others
might like this but find it slow and call it "comatose rock." But it's whatever. Get your fix of
this slow rocking behemoth. I know I will be sleeping to its drowsy effects. I kn....ZZZZzzzzz. Track This Downnnnnn...ZZZZzzzzz.
