| Ever since Aqua Teen Hunger Force started showing up on Cartoon Network, I've
found myself very easily amused by the random humor and sometimes outrageous
events that would ensue throughout the duration of each episode. From the frat
boy alien episode to the episode of which Shake moved into a well with big-foot,
I've always really enjoyed the show. Now with the Hunger Force making it to the
big screen, what better way to promote such an event than by combining the forces
of comedy with the greatest in the metal and rap markets for the soundtrack of
the album?
For starters, I feel pretty ashamed of myself for not already checking out this
movie in theatres. I've meant to get out and see it and that time just never really
came. Fortunately enough the guys with Aqua Teen are making a speedy release of the DVD,
so those others who also missed this theatrical release will be able to purchase it
soon.
Now back to the soundtrack. The Original Soundtrack for this movie is decently amusing
for the most part. The skits and random songs done by the characters in the movie/show
are pretty funny as well as the re-make of the theme song. But the only tracks I actually
find myself revisiting are the ones that were done by Unearth and Mastodon. The rest of
the tracks were either boring grungy rock songs, or (in Andrew WKs case) basically the
same subject as every other song done by the artist (which I actually thought was pretty
funny.)
As an album this ratio doesn't seem very good, but listening to the lyrics in tracks such
as "Carl's Song" really makes this a worthwhile buy. Every song consists of ridiculous
topics that relate to the characters and I find it completely hilarous. The skits, the
stupidity and the lyrics perfectly suit everything Aqua Teen has stood for in the past and
present. So for you true fans of the Hunger Force, you may want to buy this one just
for the hell of it.
