| Catching the attention of my friend and I in mid-2005, Georgia's A Girl A Gun A Ghost had some rough demos online that to this day remain two of the most played songs on my iPod. I automatically set out trying my best to promote them. They’re one of my favorite bands. I was stoked when they got their new material done.
These guys know a thing or two about crafting great songs. Now, I had some doubts but for being an such a hyped-up self-release, the production on Save This City is surprisingly solid. Everything sounds clean and crisp, and the screams sound incredible.
Blaring guitars open “The Best There Was” and proceed to set the pace before the explosive chorus. A hearty synth line in the chorus is reminiscent of Haste The Day and Calico System.
This EP went above & beyond my expectations and should have fans of solid rock/hardcore drooling for more.
“A Distant Brother” closes the disc with enough sugary goodness to give you a cavity or two.
The only drawback to Save This City is the super-short track listing. I would’ve enjoyed having a few more songs but hey, it's an EP so I completey understand. Actually, I would’ve enjoyed anything else they could cook up. This band will be going places very soon, Pop this CD in your players & you'll realize how good these dudes really are. It’s only a matter of time big-time labels come knocking.
