| Hailing from Ocala, Florida, the five members of A Day To Remember have crafted a unique blend of what can best be called "pop-mosh" a potent combination of ultra-high energy and tart-sweet melodies. You can hear the melodic chaos in its full glory on January twenty third when "For Those Who Have Heart" drops in a store near you.
A Day To Remember have upped their songwriting skills, crafting tunes that are even more intricate yet easier to discern from one another than they had in the past. The barrel through the album’s first four tracks without remorse for your eardrums before breaking into the meandering noise of “Monument.” It’s a short breather that segues right into the album’s blazingly breath taking slow jam, promptly kicking you squarely back on your ass. The best part is not only is it a great song all around, it comes so sudden and randomly you're just like, "whoa, hey now is this even the same band?!?"
Crisp production keeps the proceedings from sounding like total noise. No matter how energetic the album gets, every note is clearly audible and well defined. It’s an indicator not only of A Day To Remembers prowess behind the mixing boards, but of the band’s skill as a whole in writing actual songs and playing them with airtight precision rather than simply being noisy for the hell of it.
The tortured screams and shouts sound even more desperate and despairing, reaching for your throat as well as your heartstrings. On the 3-minute riot “The Danger In Starting A Fire,” ADTR show you what they're fully capable of beating down on your face with so much chaos.
In short, "For Those Who Have Heart" is everything long time fans of Victory would hope for from their favorite label. A Day To Remember have taken all the best elements from their last album "And Their Name Was Treason", sharpened the edges, and somehow managed to top themselves when very few thought they could get any better. This will most likely go down as one of the best albums of 2007 and I know it's only January but I can't help myself A Day To Remember have created a perfect album that deserves high praise.
