| Always Rushing By comes off much like many of the bands you've heard as of late but with a little pinch of attitude that nobody else has quite yet shown. They’re very upbeat and friendly to the emo-craze crowd. In fact for those who like the taste of typical emo-punk, it’s a good meal. Now the band may not like that label (emo) but it’s kind of hard to escape with a title like "Boys Grab Your Girls"
Opening with “Show Them Something Sweet” the CD shows off it’s polished pop infused emo-rock sound quit nicely. The vocals really compliment the dual-guitar sound with a striking force. It’s hard to explain the CD and give it the justice it deserves. Jumping from pop infused to acoustic predominate songs there isn’t a single point that can be pinned down and held responsible for the infectious sound. The biggest standout track on the album is the title rack “Boys Grab Your Girls” without exaggeration is probably the catchiest song I have heard in recent times. The lyrics, instruments, and production on this song alone are enough to make the entire CD worth picking up. The chorus of “shes the kinda girl thats always good to go, for a good time what else who knows. i sure dont, youre not picky and you havent any tact, youre the kinda girl that ruins it for girls with class?” is just a small example of the intelligent lyric style that this band does so very well.
But it’s not bad, not at all. Always Rushing By is full of catchy guitar riffs and perfect vocal blends with the beat of each track. The lyrics are very heart-on-the-sleeve type lyrics that all us kids can relate to, that comes off with issues like failed relationships and remembering old friends. Always Rushing By will make you remember high school more then anything else actually. With this album "Boys Grab Your Girls" I assume they will achieve a rather large following due to extensive plays via Myspace and Purevolume, I see great things down the road for Always Rushing By, keep up the good work boys!
It’s a very pleasing CD, but clichéd nonetheless. The album is really an impressive 6 tracks, that any established band would love to create, but coming from a group who just put out their first serving, I give Always Rushing By high praise, "Boys Grab Your Girls" is really one of the strongest releases of the year and really deserves your attention.
