| I have this weird hunch that Amory are going to make an indie label a bunch of money sometime in the near future. For those of you out there already shouting plant/payoff/bullshit, leave me and the briefcase full of money the band sent with the copy of this ep out of it. Amory mix of early The Starting Line songwriting and This Providence's pop shredding is wicked sharp and free of too many cliche's. Sure, the lyrics aren’t going to change your life, but there are a few smile worthy lines. And while you’ve heard this sound a couple times before, but that doesn’t stop it from being good. These seven songs show tons of promise. Lets hope they stay on course that "Better Days" showcases when they decide to record a full-length.
A five-piece rock combo from Bergen County, New Jersey consists of guys whose serviceable debut wears their influences like a sash of cub scout badges. I'm convinced that seeing these guys live would be a good time, tunes like "Spend The Night" bounce between bar-blues boogie and House Of Fools-tinged dirt rock just well enough that if you'd caught them by accident some night at your favorite watering hole, you'd probably tell everyone you knew about them. "Better Days" is that album you can throw on while sitting in front of the fire waiting for that first snowflake to fall from the sky, a perfect album to warm your feet and heart to.
If you own a pool hall, or daydream of opening one someday, you would be well-served to buy this record it has that kind of beat to it, something to get people tapping their feet and dancing to. Amory are a great blend of clever lyrics, dancy melodies, and up-tempo bounce. I'm telling you again Fueled By Ramen, The Militia Group, Doghouse, check out Amory they're are just what you're looking for.
