I have been arguing with the thought on what new CD would come out this summer making me feel like summer has actually been here. An album with all the songs needed to survive these next couple of months songs about heartbreak and dreaming and all the other thoughts our young generation experiences. Valencia's new album “We All Need A Reason To Believe” might just be it. “We All Need A Reason To Believe” is packed with songs that while listening you won’t be able to stop tapping your feet and afterwards, won’t be able to get out of your head. I couldn’t help but feel that these boys are bringing old school back! Yet schools starting and summer is just about over, Valencia shove this new record right in your face and make you love every second of it.

The album starts off with a song titled “Better Be Prepared” this song shows off the true spirit of Valencia's distinctive vocals and a common catchy chorus. Songs like “Where Did You Go” (my favorite song on the album), “Carry On” and “All At Once” display Valencia's pop punk sound to a T, and bring back what their past album “This Could Be A Possibility” definitely lacked. “Where Did You Go” has the "This Could Be.." vibe that made their songs so original and has great lyrics such as, “And it's just something that i've been dying to let you know, now that you're gone i'm holding on and i just cant let go” “All At Once” is reminiscent of "The Space Between” from their previous release and “I Can't See Myself” is an instant hit. They also slow it down on some tracks such as “Carry On” and “Listen Up.” Most of the album’s songs are truly good songs with less than few fillers. The music stays true to the Valencia sound but brings in more serious lyrics such as in song “I Can't See Myself,” when they sing “If the sunsets a mile ahead well maybe we can understand this time, if we can forget what just was said then maybe we can pretend that all of our lives will be perfect in the end” The slightly beach boyish track “Safe To Say” also stuck out with some gang vocals oh's and ah's that usually isn’t featured in this band’s tracks and sweet hearted lyrics, “It was the very first time I felt alive..”

"We All Need A Reason To Believe" is clearly a well put together album. It still doesn’t achieve the greatness of “This Could Be A Possibility,” but brings back what they heavily lacked on it which is more staying power and that’s all that matters. If you learn to compromise with the slight changes, it’ll tickle your pop punk taste buds all school year long and give you a real reason to believe.
