How is the "Far From the Lies Tour" Going?
>Great we are having a good time being out with a bunch of our friends the stiletto formal, yesterdays rising, and our new buddies in So They Say.
It seemed like your new CD came out of no where, like it just appeared and there was no info about it prior. Was there less publicity with this one?
>As far as I know this cd has way more publicity than our past albums. It is being released pretty quickly after recording it in January and February this year.
Where was "Far From the Lies" recorded and how long did it take to record?
>We recorded at Hollywood Sound Studios in Hollywood for about 5 weeks.
How did the band start up?
>We actually started as a joke about 3 and half years ago just trying to play a couple of shows and things just continued from there.
Where did you get the name "Greeley Estates"?
>We actually got it from a street sign in Greeley, Colorado and were planning on just using it for a couple of shows. It doesn’t really mean anything but it stuck.
What is one of your favorite songs to play live?
>We love playing our new stuff I think that is always the case for bands. “Nothing Good Happens After Dark” is probably our favorite to play lately.
Do you have a favorite venue?
>Probably Marquee Theatre in Phoenix AZ amazing sound its always good to be home.
If you could tour with any band who would it be?
>Wow I don’t know we just had the opportunity to tour with some bands that really influenced us on A Taste of Chaos, Thursday, Thrice, and the Deftones. We are all really excited to be on warped this summer with AFI, I think we are pretty content right now.
How is Record Collection treating you?
>Great, we couldn’t have made a better choice for a label. Everyone is really supportive of the direction and dream we have for this band.
Have any hilarious stories from the road that you want to share?
>Our merch guy tim got knockouted by some gangsters because he was pissing on their Bentley pretty hilarious. I also got knocked out on stage in Idaho on warped from our guitarist Dallas. Lots of fun
What were some of your influences growning up and for this CD?
>We have been influenced by so many bands, glassjaw, refused, Thursday, thrice, jimmy eat world. Vocally bands like refused and the smashing pumpkins have influenced me
What are somethings that you can't live without on tour?
>My ipod, az green tea, york peppermint patties you know the normal things
I like how you guys offer a free t-shirt with a pre-order of "Far From the Lies," do you do that so more people will be interested?
>Maybe we just want to get the music out.
