Would you first tell us you name and what you do in the band?
>the name is mikey and I play the geeeter
We really enjoyed your new album, how long did it take to write
and record?
>I'm gonna say it took about two and half months to make the
music,we recorded for a month in jersey city!
Victory Records' owner Tony Brummel said "I am thrilled and
extremely excited that Driver Side Impact finally decided to join the Victory family. We have seen the band develop over several months which makes their signing even more rewarding," does this mean
that you had doubts in joining Victory at first?
>not at all, we have had a lot intrest in victory from the
beginning, we were like one day we want to be on victory ahaha, we
recorded our ep and our manager thought it be fun to show tony, he
imeditly had us come out to chi-town after hearing the artist, the rest
is history. Ahha
What was the main differences between the making your first EP,
"We Will Disappear" produced by Don Debiase, and the making of your new full length album "The Very
Air We Breathe"?
>the main difference is we actually used a click track for the
very air we breathe, also we recorded in analog with the full legnth,
soo much more feeling with analog Don is amazing and so is Sal we love them both like family!! We learned a great deal makin the full length with Sal, it was like rock school
ahaha.
Where does the bands name come from and how did you guys suddenly
decide to start a group?
>jack and teddy created the band with memeber switching a lil bit
till the ending line up came along. We came up with brace for impact for
our name and teddy mentioned Driver side impact was better ahha and it
stuck. No accedents or tragedys, just a ironic moment hhaaha
Most of the members come from other bands such as The Radikills,
Race Against the World, The Modics, and Shoot the Moon. With 2 albums complete, do you think DSI
has the glue to stick together for the long haul?
>everyone in this band is family! We go thru the hard and the
awesome! We love each other and we will live strong fo sho.
This line up we have just works so well. Sound and ideas alike!
What is something that you guys can't live without on tour? And
what is your favorite place to stop to eat on tour?
>driving more then 8 hours, we drove from chicago to denver in one
day! The worst drive ever haha I wish there was a star trek warp machiene
We love every where we have gone so far, we got to give a shout out to
our home town CLEVELAND!!! We seriously love playing at home, also the
kids in gainesville fl, Detroit MI, and Pa are truly amazing! We love
everywhere though fo sho
How's touring going anyway? Where is your favorite venue? We bet
you can't wait for the hometown show in Cleveland in early July.
>I personally loved seattle! The venu in Boise! They fed us so
much good food ahahah and Studio seven, it was so rad there, big stage
and hella fun
We around the "office" think that "Life Like Movies" is our
favorite track on the album, what is your favorite? Favorite to play live?
>good choice, awful fun to play live as well, its tricky cause of
the time changes and its like 6/8 and 4/4 with some various mesures of
7/8 My favorite song to play and lsiten to is reasons we sleep, I love
flippin my guitar all over my back ahaha and its pretty heavy
What are a few of your most anticipated albums of 2007?
>well circa came out with us and that is one of my fav bands, also
look out for the new Mayday Parade, we love those guys, their record
drops 7.10.07 ohhh sooo goood
You guys and Victory seem to be on the same page with your
vision, how has your experiance been so far?
>I'm lovin it, seriousl the feel of the record from the art to the
sound has tottaly been right up our alley! Just simply felt right from
the moment we started ir, and working with Sal was a dream, he produced
thursday and Tbs so seriously to work with him was an honour.
