I'd like to first say thank you for answering our questions. Tell us what your name is and what
you do in the band?
>Brooks
and I sing
How did the writing and recording go for your new record "Cover Your Eyes?" How was it
different from writing and recording your first album, "Hey, I'm a Ghost?"
>Completely different animal. Last record, we hadnt found our chemistry and we hadnt found our respective places in the band. I think with this record we really realized our identity and then wrote some real songs. These songs are cohesive and fluid. James Wisner was amazing!! He really loves working the song and making it a solid song from the beginning of conceptualizing. I think it shows BIG TIME.
How does it feel to not only be a "Christian" rock band but also be on one of the most
"Christian" record labels out there?
>Well we arent a christian band. Tooth and Nail's history made them our choice because we knew that they had a real ethical foundation and that was huge for us. Being on tooth and nail obviously offers that immediate assumption, but its not true. We are all Christians, and so very proud of that.
Since your drummer Spencer's brother is the lead singer of Underoath, do you guys like to team
up on tours or things like that?
> We have toured together a couple of times and it was amazing!! Those dudes are so legit. I love them soo very much. We have very different styles, so touring is more for fun and fellowship than anything. We will tour with them again Im sure.
Speaking of tours, how is the current Tooth & Nail Tour doing? Do you like the venues and
fellow bands?
>one word- Bros!!
What are a few of your most anticipated releases for the rest of 2007?
> hmm im excited for the new MXPX, The new Junior Varsity record is gonna turn a ton of heads, i expect good things from them.
We hear you guys are involved in To Write Love on Her Arms. What got you guys involved in it?
>Jamie being an incredible dude! I met him a few years ago, and learned about his cause and was immediately inspired by his authenticity.
Since most of the band is from North Carolina, do you have OBX stickers on everything you own? (ha i hope not)
>Yes!! how did you know? OUTER BANX BABY!!!! uh........no. I do have the DMB rip off though, (dave matthews band for those who aren't cool)
What is something that you guys can't live without on tour?
> women!! wait... water and kashi bars, we will throw away our suit cases before we run out of those things, tyson is always snaking the peanut butter kind. Bastard
Where do you guys stop at to eat the most on the road?
> WENDYS I have had more wendys chili in my gut than should be allowed by the FDA. I love KFC though!
Judging by the videos on your Myspace you guys are interesting guys, any DVD releases in the
future with live goodness?
>I HOPE, and i think so, we are about to work on a series of shorts for the new record. I really love exercising the creative muscles. Tyson is a camera hog though
Thanks again for the oppotunity to talk with you. We wish you luck with the album, we really
liked it and hope everyone else does. Anything you would like to say to the readers of
