Chiodos - Taste Of Chaos Interview

How has playing on The Taste Of Chaos been so far for you guys? Is it something you'd consider doing again later in the future?

>The taste of chaos is amazing, its a lot like the warped tour, except its not hot as fucking balls. We enjoy doing tours like this, but its not as much fun being so far from the crowd, we like being right there with the kids.

How did it feel writing such a solid album with "Alls Well That Ends Well", and getting so much publicity from it?

>"Alls Well That Ends Well" is in the past, I mean we've been touring on that album alone for two and a half years now, it’s the same old thing. The publicity is crazy, I mean there are people here who were watching us in Flynt as nearly nobodies. Now look at us here with people screaming our names and all the lyrics to our songs…it's nuts.

Since being known as "The Chiodos Bros.", and going through some lineup changes, how do you think, as a band, you guys have matured?

>Yea I mean, everyone matures and evolves with age.

Why change the name at all?

>We felt it should be a short and easy name for people and the fact that we had the band we were happy with, we should change the name to us, kind of out of respect for the others that were in the band previously too ya know.

What is in store for the future of Chiodos, and what can fans expect to see out of you guys later on down the road?

>We are touring all year almost, or in the studio. We have this entire year booked up entirely. We will definitely have that new album out later this year, so look that up. We are trying to set up a smaller club tour with us headlining you know. We love to play smaller places where I can see everyone, out here I can hardly see past the 4th row of people. The first night at the end of the set I sprinted to the front of the stage to launch a stick, I couldn’t even tell how far it landed, it's just way too big sometimes.

You guys were working on demo's in Seattle for the new album. How will the new cd compare/differ from that of "Alls Well That Ends Well" ?

>This album is so much more epic. That’s the only way I can describe this. The harder parts are so much better than the last album, and the melodic sing along parts are much cooler in my opinion. Its just epic man. An idea of the the type songs on this album remind me a lot of the song “The Words Best Friends Become Redefined”.

What is your personal favorite song off of the album, to play live?

>Umm I would have to say my favorite song would be “There Are No Penguins In Alaska”. It just gets me pumped you know it’s a harder fun song.

How is it being back in Michigan for Taste of Chaos?

>We love being in MI again, I mean this is the hometown show, all these people we know from around here are coming to watch and are coming to party with us after the show. Its like old times, except it’s a such a bigger scale then the old days.

What's the craziest thing to happen to you guys while being in the band?

>HAHA crazy shit happens all the time, we usually do this little jam session thing after shows, and I m.c it, so I was outside running around trying to grab kids to come check it out. Then I was running across the road and ran across an unmarked cop car, that got me tossed in the clink for a night. Not cool, don’t go to jail, it sucks and court fines fucking suck too.

Is there anything else you'd like to add for the readers of skylinepress.net to see?

>Umm keep us out here, buy our albums and our merch, we will try as hard as we can keep you guys happy. Thanks for listening and keep listening to us. We love you guys.
