The Sleeping - Dirtfest Interview

So how did your guys' set go today here at Dirtfest?

>It went very well, there were a lot of kids, and we don't play Michigan too often so we didn't know what to expect

When you first heard about Dirtfest what did you imagine it being like?

>Well honestly, it's a lot different then I had imagined, I thought that everything around here was gonna be Dirt related, or like in a sweet field or something, but this is a lot nicer than i had thought it was going to be.

How have recent tours gone? Which ones have you been on and what upcoming ones are you going out on?

>Not too long ago we got off of the Warped Tour and then prier to today we just had a show in Pennsylvania to get us out here. But we're getting ready to go out on our European Victory Records tour with Aiden, Bayside, and the Audition and then after returning from Europe we're heading out on the Nintendo Fusion Tour with Hawthorne Heights, Relient K, Emery, and the Plain White T's. Usually when we tour, we try to remember the smaller places that helped us out from the beginning.

That's awesome man, have you had any majorly crazy tour stories?

>There are always funny stories out on tour, but i think the craziest things might have to be the Van wars between us and Silverstein. Oh and today we are getting them back."When you read this your van will be fucked up and plastered in Granny Tranny Porn". August 19th 2006.

Haha anyways, how has the response been with your new album?

>Things went way better than expected, we have commercials out and things have gotten promoted very well, so we're happy with it.

About how long did the writing/recording process take?

>Over all I'd say the writing process took around 2 months total.

Were there any major themes or differences between your new album "Questions and Answers" and your previous release "Believe What We Tell You"?

>yea actually, our new album is basically written about relationships ending and the passing of a close friend, and it basically started by me locking myself in my room and writing and our Debut was a little of that as well.

Were there any major influences in writing the new album?

>Not really, we just mostly based our stuff off of the previously mentioned things.

Well it was nice talking with and interviewing you, good luck with the European tour.
